RULES

Kanawha Valley BCA Bylaws

1.     The sanction fee of $20.00 and admin fee of $10.00 is due the first night that a player joins your roster.  

2.     Rosters are to be turned in on the first night and updated as necessary throughout the season (please use legal First and Last names, not nicknames)

3.     There is a $50.00 per team bar fee that is paid by the bar and is due on the first night of play.   Captains, please get with your bar owners to collect this money. 

4.     The $15.00 (open) or $13.00 (women) weekly fees are due the night that you play. 

5.     You must pay for your bye weeks and that is due to be turned in the following week with your regular league match. 

6.     All envelopes are due to be turned in no later than Wednesday, the same week of play at one of the drop-off locations.  Make sure you are giving it to the bartender on duty only.  

7.     We cannot tell a bar that they have to open the tables, be prepared to have to pay an additional $2.50 (open) or $2.00 (women) per person for green fees.  

8.     There are to be no headphones worn during a league match game.

9.     There is to be no practicing on another table during league matches. 

10.   League matches are scheduled to begin at 7pm.   There is a 15 minute grace period for starting a match.  

11.   If a player has not arrived by their first game and it has been discussed with each captain, the person may be played around until they arrive.    

12.   If you need to reschedule, please give as much notice as possible to the opposing team captain, but no later than 1pm on the day of the match.   Any notification after 1pm on the same day of the match could result in a forfeit (which you will still have to pay for)

13.    Reschedules need to be completed within 2 weeks or you need to notify an officer

GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR LEAGUE MEETINGS and OPERATING RULES 

Captains are notified of league meeting date (at least 2 weeks in advance) and are responsible for notifying team members. 

 Tentative Agenda will be listed for the meeting with a request for any additional agenda items from teams to be discussed.

In the event a Team Captain cannot attend the meeting, the league operator must be notified in writing of who will be representing the team at the meeting. All members of teams are invited to attend meetings however, it is requested to have one spokesperson per team.

 League Improvement or Operating Rule Requests are preferred to be submitted in writing to the league Operator in advance of meeting, however, ideas can be pitched for discussion.  Ideas not in writing prior to meeting and pitched for discussion at meetings may or may not be included in league changes voting for present meeting.

 Ballots will be created for all meeting approved ideas of operating rule change or league improvement changes.  Ballots will be distributed with weekly team paperwork with required deadline for returning.

 Results of rule changes, or league improvement ideas will be documented with a hard copy returned to all team captains for team distribution.  

GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR ROSTER AND DUES

Rosters are expected to be completed as soon as possible and updated as necessary throughout the season.

Legal names should reflect information as it is listed on your driver’s license.

Dues are $20.00 per year for sanction fees and are due the first night of league play for that individual.  Admin fees are $10.00 per year per person and due the first night of play for that individual.  

GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR MATCH START TIMES

All matches are scheduled to begin at 7pm. 

There is a 15 minute grace period for starting a match.

If a player has not arrived by their first game and it has been discussed with each captain, and if they agree, the person may be played around until they arrive within reason.  

GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR SCORE SHEET COMPLETION

All score sheets, award sheets, and envelopes should be complete and legible. 

Completed envelopes are to be dropped off at one of the drop-off locations by Wednesday following the Monday match.  

Be sure to give the envelope to the bartender on duty.

Both captains are responsible for ensuring that all score sheets are correct, completed, and that all monies are enclosed before the envelope is sealed.   

Home team captains are responsible for ensuring the envelope is delivered to the drop location.
